We use resources efficiently to minimize wasted energy, materials, time and money. One of the biggest wastes of energy, time and money in healthcare is simply going to and from the doctor’s office. We created this practice to minimize the need for your car which reduces your gas expense while continually providing you the best medical care and accessibility to our staff.
- Your appointments are longer than most, not only to provide the best and most personal care, but also to provide care without repeated and unnecessary follow-up abbreviated visits. Continuous follow-up visits are needed when your doctor is working for your insurance company. The health insurance bureaucracy makes it exceedingly difficult to keep a medical practice in business without seeing each patient quickly and having that patient schedule frequent return visits.
- Our Care Model includes the option for an innovative Membership Model to provide easier and faster access to your doctor. Through the use of phone, email and/or remote videoconferencing, Membership Services keep you out of the car and away from the gas station. Membership services are cost effective and time efficient for families leaving more time to live well with your family. This is especially important because, despite our easily accessible Central Orange County location, many of our patients live a distance from the office.
- Few Centers of Excellence in epilepsy and other pediatric neurological conditions offer our broad range of Services in their stand alone Practice. You can schedule a dietary consultation, review of neuropsychologic testing, evaluation for a Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrician, or a standard EEG or even 1-3+ day video AEEG with Dr. Stein.
Environmental to prevent your child from infection, thus keeps your child at home versus the hospital which save money and valuable resources.
- AEEG is video and brain wave recording that is placed by SleepMed / DigiTrace Ambulatory EEG technologists on site. Typically, the Video EEG monitoring is performed in an expensive, resource-intensive hospital setting. More and more epileptologists are finding significant value providing Video Ambulatory EEG recordings in the home environment. Being at home for your test is much healthier: keeps you away from hospital-super bugs and away from feeling “sick”.
- We are in a modern office building with state of the art energy efficiency strategies, mostly invisible to staff and visitors, including advanced controls for heating and air-conditioning along with motion sensors for lighting. Significant efforts are made by our staff to minimize energy usage.

- Our Practice strives to be paperless. We use advanced, secure electronic medical records and office management software. All forms are available for download (soon with the capability to be completed on-line and emailed to the Practice) as well as faxes are received in an email, therefore not utilizing paper. We would be glad to give you your medical records on a CD or on your memory stick. This would also allow you to share your medical record from our Practice with other providers. When you provide us paper records, we will scan those into the electronic medical record and then return the paper records to you. Prescriptions will be electronically sent to your pharmacy unless otherwise directed.
- Dr. Stein’s home is GREEN. Solar panels, bio-diesel car for her husband and compressed natural gas car for Dr. Stein, maintaining an organic garden, and her children continuously practice the 3 R’s. You probably don’t want to get Dr. Stein started on just how GREEN she truly is!
