Office Consultation

Dr. Diane Stein, a Board Certified Child Neurologist, provides evaluation and treatment of general neurologic concerns and conditions in children, teens, and adults She specializes in seizures and epilepsy both newly found and long standing and in children, teens and young adults or persons with developmental disabilities at any age. Other interests include brain injury, autism, and finding the cause of developmental disability in persons of any age. She continues to follow her patients into adulthood and enjoys getting to know the family, friends or care providers that support her patients.

As our office is very familiy friendly, you generally can bring the other children with you to the appt. with Dr. Stein. Our office has no typical "exam tables" or tissue paper. You will find an office that is comfortable and a special room that is for low sensory stimulation to optimize the communication with persons who are sensory sensitve.

In a standard first time visit, Dr. Stein obtains a detailed history, performs a fun and painless physical examination, discusses the findings and likely diagnosis, educates about the condition or recommended treatment(s) and suggests future care plan. Families are encouraged to bring records for review, results of prior testing, actual copies of MRIs or CTs for full review (not just report) and copy of EEG tracings in an EEG has been done. The more information that is brought, the better Dr. Diane Stein can serve you.

We work closely with other members of the care team for your child: primary care providers (typically pediatricians and family practice doctors), mental health providers, pediatric sub-specialists, governmental programs, schools, advocacy and support groups. Referrals to other centers of excellence will be made as needed and/or requested. We believe that families deserve to have a coordinated team approach to wellness for all children, but especially for those with neurological and behavioral conditions.

We take insurance and will have same day appointments available. If you wish to have a prolonged appointment (have to travel to come to the clinic, other reasons) this can also be arranged.
