The Great Purple Cupcake Project

What's this all about?
Conceived by three smart cupcakes at The Anita Kaufmann Foundation (AKF), The Great Purple Cupcake Project is a sweet epilepsy awareness initiative supporting Purple Day (March 26th). During the week of March 26th, AKF is inviting bakeries and cupcakeries across the United States to feature PURPLE CUPCAKES in an effort to promote awareness of a condition that affects over 3 million Americans.

Of course, Dr. Diane Stein does not run a bakery or cupcakery, but what many of you may not know is that she almost did. 2007 was a year of many choices for the Stein family...

Life seemed to tough as a mother, wife, doctor and friend - medicine was almost going to get the axe in favor of, yes you guess it, a bakery.

I have a few loves - family, helping better live better, musical theater and baking! I was so close to working for or with a baker! But, also, I followed my passion and stayed a doctor. Still, my cupcakes are darn good! Gall up and order some or come over to SLCN and buy one or two - 100% fundraising!
